A person who forms opinions on the basis of reason, independent of authority or tradition.
Freethinkers include atheists, agnostics, skeptics, humanists and rationalists.
No one can be a freethinker who demands conformity to a bible,
creed or messiah. To the freethinker, revelation and faith are
invalid and orthodoxy is no guarantee of truth.
Freethinkers of Ventura
County is a philosophically diverse group of people with eclectic interests whose common thread
is to question belief. FTVC promotes rational discussion by hosting monthly meetings
with expert speakers on a wide variety of topics.
The organization is both educational and social.
May Events
Meetings are held every third Monday of the month from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at
Round Table Pizza, 880 Arneill Road, in Camarillo (Lewis Road exit, between Von's & K-Mart).
Those who wish to join us for dinner as well, should arrive between 6:00 - 6:30. Special events at
alternate locations will be announced in advance.
On Monday, May 21, our speaker will be FTVC member Hugh Kramer who will present, "Crisis of the Third Century." Questions and discussion to
follow.
LUNCHEON:
An informal luncheon is held on the third Friday of the month at alternating locations. On May 25 we will meet at
the Souplantation, Camarillo, Las Posas exit. Noon.
FREETHOUGHT SALON. (Discussion Group) The Salon is Back!! We will meet on Sunday, May 20.
12:00 - 2:00 PM, (Note earlier time this month). The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 4360 E. Main Street, #E,
in Ventura (Telephone Road exit).
