Freethinkers of Ventura
County
free-think-er n.
A person who forms opinions about religion on the basis of
reason, independently of tradition, authority, or established
belief. Freethinkers include atheists, agnostics and
rationalists.
No one can be a freethinker who demands conformity to a bible,
creed or messiah. To the freethinker, revelation and faith are
invalid and orthodoxy is no guarantee of truth.
Freethinkers of Ventura
County has two specific purposes: the promotion of the
constitutional principle of separation of state and church and
the education of the public on matters related to non-theistic
belief. The organization is both educational and social.
July Events
The Freethinkers of
Ventura County meet monthly at the Best Western Camarillo Inn, 295 Daily Drive, Suite #5 .
Special events at
alternate locations will be announced in advance.
Meetings are held the
second Monday of each month at 7:30 PM. On Monday, July 14, our speaker will be FTVC member Jeanean Hollen,
who will present "Dubai: Past, Present and Future," a look at this Arab Country's history, politics and innovative eco-friendly construction boom that has dominated the last decade.
Snacks and discussion to follow. A $5 donation would be greatly appreciated to cover the cost of the room.

LUNCHEON:
An informal luncheon is held on the second Friday of the month at alternating locations.
On Friday July 25th at noon the luncheon will be at Brent's Deli, 2799 Townsgate Rd., Westlake Village (@ Westlake Blvd.)
FREETHOUGHT SALON (Discussion Group) last Sunday of the
month, July 27 from 2 - 4 p.m.
Check out our New Location! Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery, 185 E. Daily Dr. in Camarillo (across the
street from our meeting room). They have a nice little room, directly to the left of the entrance.
It is kindly suggested that everyone order a beverage, appetizer, or piece of pie. How about if all participants order a whole
pie to chare? Please bring fascinating, provocative topics to discuss.
